Easy Paper Flowers for Kids DIY Fire Flowers

One of my favorite paper flowers in my new book is the Fire Flowers partly due to fact that is so super easy and simple that mostly any elementary school kids too can do it. I wanted to make sure I create some flowers in the book that even my kids would be interested in doing and the book does have many interesting projects that your kids could take up during the summer holidays!

Fire Flowers - paper flowers easy enough for kids
The flowers came in a spur of the moment while playing around with a diecut from Michaels which are often used in most school.Yes,the flowers are made from the regular old diecuts found in most stores and a school staple also.

This time I changed it up a bit by using scrapbook paper and cutting out the pieces using the template template from the book.I used spotted scrapbook paper from NewEngland Scrapbook Company one of my local favourite paper shop here in CT.

Trry changing up colors and I am sure you can end with a great contemprorary accent decor.I thought once the flowers evolved I would call it a Ginger Flowers by my  7 yrs old daughter was the one who saw and said Mom it looks like and Fire Flower and that how the name came to be!

These flowers are going to be going to Paper Crafters Corner Hope you like the samplers!

DIY Easy Paper Flower Tutorials

Would you like to make easy paper flowers for this Spring with complete step by step tutorials all in one book?

"Flowers are everywhere this time of year, and it's even in our craft books! I am a knitter and crocheter, but I used to dabble in origami & every once in a while I still do. I was thrilled when I was contacted to review this book because I was hoping it would inspire me to play with paper again - and it did !

Maria breaks the book up by materials and technique - using crepe paper (maybe obvious to a lot of people, but news to me!), scrapbook paper, construction paper (which to me immediately means affordable and bright colors!), paper napkins (another affordable option), origami paper (easily bought at craft chains like Michael's, and I happen to have a package here), quilling paper strips (something I've never done but might try thanks to this book), and recycled paper. Maria also talks about what type of glue and wire you should use, and what other materials she recommends, making it easy for beginners like me to get started.

Another feature I appreciate is the fact that the book is spiral bound so the pages lay flat. Why don't all craft books do this?

There are also step by step photographs besides the written direction.

Some of my favorite projects include the tulip (unbelievably lifelike using doublette crepe paper in yellow, black, and green), bird of paradise (also using doublette crepe paper), pinwheels (not really a flower, but very cute, and uses double sided scrapbook paper), and the Kusudama Flower, using scrapbook paper, and something I actually made before years ago as a teen (I vividly remember making some to give to my dad for Father's Day).

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to begin playing with paper."

CuteEverthing.com review on Crepe Paper Flowers Tutorials DIY wedding flowers on

Michelle at CuteEverything.com  is an avid paper flower enthusiast. She was kind enough to review the book "How to Make 100 Paper Flowers".

Michelle in her own words says "I try to find and single out the cutest things to share with you each day. If I’m unsure about something, I bring in my daughters and see if it has the “Awwww, how cute!” factor."
She has a lovely site and some great DIY ideas on her blog so head on over to here site for some great ideas.

Here is a what she had to say about the new book "How to Make 100 Paper Flowers"

"I was seriously so excited to receive How to Make 100 Paper Flowers! I’m such a huge fan of making paper flowers and I even have a Pinterest board dedicated to it. I have enjoyed making them out of many materials, like coffee filters, felt, scrapbook paper and scrap paper.

The very best thing about them is that they don’t die in a few days! I tell my husband to not buy me real flowers, because even though they are gorgeous, I just feel disappointed in a few days when they die. But, I love how making paper flowers has the double benefit of being able to make them myself, plus they last a long time. Read more "
