Large paper flowers for a wedding.

I was super busy trying to get ahead with Jude's order for large paper flowers for her wedding with other orders close at my heels again...Here are the latest flower that I created. The bride would hold a whisper pink peony seen below. It has sooo many petals that I lost count how many I included. It's 1 feet across and a a show stopper :-) peony with stamens in the center

The bridesmaids are going to be holding different kinds of large paper flower. Here are some shots of them.
She has asked for a large mum, large peonies, rose and marigold for the bridesmaids to hold.

The order also has small white mums and light pink paper peonies.

Jude's wedding with St Jude's paper flowers!

A few weeks ago a client came to me with a special name! Jude! I was really happy to hear the same name as my name and well as my business name which is named after St Jude the great patron of hopeless cases. I have had great favors that were received from my patron saint :-) hence in thanksgiving I named my business after him.

Anyway Jude has ordered flower for the entire wedding in white a and whisper pink, the pictures are following.
The peonies in whisper pink!

My house is in a riot of colors and is looking so beautiful with nancy's extra order of orange and yellow poppies and Jude's order.

The bridesmaids are going to be holding single large paper blooms in white
while the bride is going to be holding a whisper pink peony which is what I will be tackling next.

Anemone Wedding Cake Topper revisited for bouquets

I have been requested many times to make anemones wedding bouquets for brides.Anemones wedding cakes are the latest now in the bridal scene and I have about 3 bookings this spring for bridal bouquets with them and anemone wedding cake topper.I am really looking forward in making them. Here is the picture I think about 5 brides have forwarded me a very nicely decorated set of cakes.

Here are some old pictures I had done of blue anemones! which I though I should revisit and arrange for my viewers that they know the range of colors options

Orange and yellow anemone held together

Today I had an urgent request from a bride's wedding coordinator whose baker suddenly stood up on them and she asked if I could do a large anemone flower for the bride's cake.Th flower would be the only flower atop the cake and lo and behold she forwarded me the same picture! I thought I would give it a try in decorative clay and here is the result
anemonecake Mind you the flower is 5 to 6 inches across! Here is my listing for it at Anemone cake anemone cake

More pictures on the gardenias wedding bouquet

Here are more pcitures on the gardenia wedding bouquet. Now firstly I finished off all the 12 corsages!

Just finished up the gardenia bouquet and added a blue large bow to it!

A clay gardenia hair flower would have looked good with this!It looked sooo great that I thought I should be relisting it!

Take look at my listing at Artificial Bridal Gardenia for the hair wedding The flower would be 3.5 inches big just right to wear in the hair for your wedding.

wedding Gardenia bouquet

The clay wedding bouquet looks likes ,I used a staggered approach rather than creating a rounded bouquet and added some vine and folded leaves.Nancy had a lovely idea she just wanted the stems of gardenia tied together and she wanted a dozen gardenia separate. What she plans is to give them to her family and they would come up and give it to her to add to her bouquet - a nice touch of including the family in the wedding!

The bouquet is not yet complete.I have tied a blue ribbon bow to it!

The mother in law likes red roses so we thought we would create a red rose corsage for her - havent yet added the ribbons to it..

The ring cushion has these: 2 large gardenias and bud.

Handmade artificial flowers : Double Gardenia corsage for wedding bouquet

The order that Nancy placed was for gardenias in clay for the bouquets so I created some clay gardenias and tried out corsages with them and they turned out sooo well.

The main wedding order of Nancy is for an artificial clay gardenia bouquet. She has 12 boutounierres and 13 corsages!

Here are some inspiring pictures.I am debating whether I need to put the twig curls in or not?

Gardenia Corsages:
with a twig in it?

I might go with the 2nd one??

Paper poppies in yellow and orange and red roses bouquet

I am making flowers for Nancy for her wedding. She ordered for yellow and orange poppies and red rose and what a head turner it's turning to be! I thought the combination wouldn't go well together but the moment I saw them together I knew I have a winning combination on my hand!

See the pictures,I am not much of a photographic genius and the pictures don't show justice:-)

I am trying to hurry up here :-) as I need to get this out this weekend with another large order coming up!!!

Your voice is needed more than ever! FOCA the pro abortion bill

I have been wanting to post on this issue many times before and I thought I cannot postpone it any longer.Issues like abortion are very close to my heart especially since I had 2 miscarriages before I had my lovely now 3 yr old daughter and now 1 yr old son.It was a very painful time in my life but one thing it taught me was the value of life and that a child is a very precious gift in life.

There is post card campaign that is going on:
It very essential that you take a printout and mail it your Senator and make sure your voice is heard! The msot ridiculous fact is that even doctors and Catholic institutions would probably will have to be potentialy forcibly allow abortions. Also this measure would be funded with the income tax we pay!!!!!

Please take a moment for life and click here and take a print out on any cardstock and mail it:

You are welcome to repost any part of this article in whole anywhere.Let the word get out.You know if we can't protect or speak for the innocents who cannot speak then how will we protect the ones who can speak?

Now if you know about the new abortion law FOCA that president Obama is putting into effect,

Here is the following:

The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) is again before Congress (S. 1173, H.R. 1964). FOCA is a radical bill. It creates a “fundamental right” to abortion throughout the nine months of pregnancy. No governmental body at any level would be able to “deny or interfere with” this right, or to “discriminate” against the exercise of this right “in the regulation or provision of benefits, facilities, services, or information.” For the first time, abortion would become an entitlement the government must condone and promote.

FOCA would go well beyond the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision in imposing an extreme abortion regimen on our country. No other piece of legislation would have such a destructive impact on society’s ability to limit or regulate abortion. It would eliminate a broad range of laws—informed consent laws; parental involvement laws; laws promoting maternal health; abortion clinic regulations; government programs and facilities that pay for or promote childbirth and other health care without subsidizing abortion; conscience protection laws; laws prohibiting a particular abortion procedure (e.g., partial birth abortion); laws requiring that abortions only be performed by a licensed physician; and so on. For a careful legal analysis of FOCA by the USCCB’s Office of General Counsel, see: www.nchla.org/docdisplay.asp?ID=190. A summary fact sheet for general distribution can be found at: www.nchla.org/docdisplay.asp?ID=194

In a September 19 letter to Members of Congress, Cardinal Justin Rigali, Chairman of the USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities, raised grave concerns about any possible consideration of FOCA. “Despite its deceptive title, FOCA would deprive the American people in all 50 states of the freedom they now have to enact modest restraints and regulations on the abortion industry,” and would “counteract any and all sincere efforts by government to reduce abortions in our country.” The Cardinal declared: “We can’t reduce abortions by promoting abortion.” He urged all Senators and Representatives “to pledge their opposition to FOCA.” For full text of the letter, see: www.usccb.org/prolife/FOCArigaliltr.pdf.

Recommended Actions: Contact your U.S. Representative and two U.S. Senators by FAX letter, e-mail, or phone. Call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at: 202.224.3121; or call Members’ local offices. Full contact info can be found on Members of Congress’s web sites, at: www.senate.gov and www.house.gov.

Message to all Members: “Please pledge now to oppose FOCA.” Those Members of Congress who have signed on as cosponsors of FOCA should be asked to remove their names from the bill. To check the list of current cosponsors, see: nchla.org/docdisplay.asp?ID=191.

Other Actions:

1. Arrange a formal meeting with your Representative and two Senators.

2. Communicate with your Representative and two Senators at town meetings.

3. Place an ad opposing FOCA in your local Catholic paper or other publication or insert educational materials in church bulletins. For an ad presentation designed for grassroots use, see: www.usccb.org/prolife/media/docs/foca.pdf. For bulletin inserts in black and white or color, see: www.nchla.org/docdisplay.asp?ID=201.

4. Write letters to the editor or express your views on call in radio talk shows.

Thanks!
Maria.
